Degrassi: Extra Credit
''Degrassi: Extra Credit'' is a series of graphic novels based upon the teen drama television series ''Degrassi: The Next Generation''. The graphic novel series is written by J. Torres and illustrated by Ed Northcott, and it is the basis for a set of Degrassi mangasodes.〔Torres, J. (The Official Weblog of Comic Book Writer J. Torres. ) (January 24, 2007): "In other Degrassi: Extra Credit related news, the "mangasodes" (animated minis/webisodes) based on scenes from books one and two will be debuting in early February on CTV broadband and The N's website in February. Like most episodes of the show, each novel is named after an 1980s song. The storylines in ''Degrassi: Extra Credit'' are meant to cover and expand upon unseen plots and elements that have not been addressed on the series.〔Weiland, Jonah ("Degrassi: Extra Credit" Graphic Novels Officially Announced ) ''Comic Book Resources'' (January 10, 2006): "But there’s so much more that never makes it to the screen. What happens during summer vacation? What about the off-camera, after-school lives of the Degrassi students? What are the characters’ home lives really like?
